Course Overview
SIT30116 Certificate III in Tourism provides the skills and knowledge to be competent in tourism sales, operations and tour delivery. The course is designed to allow students maximum exposure to several career paths across different businesses. Students will be supported by mentors and train in small groups or undertake the course via distant education. Training is interactive, flexible and interesting.

Course cost is $3,600 per student. A $500 confirmation deposit is required (on acceptance of enrolment). To achieve a Certificate III in Tourism 15 units must be completed:
- 4 core units
- 11 elective units, consisting of:
- 6 units from Group C
OR
- 6 units from Group A, B, C or E
- the remaining 5 units may be selected from any elective group below, elsewhere in the SIT Training Package, or any other current Training Package or accredited course.
In all cases selection of electives must be guided by the job outcome sought, local industry requirements and the characteristics of this qualification

Assessment Strategy
Assessment in this course will be competency based, in that the student will be required to demonstrate competency in a range of tasks. The assessment coding which will apply is either C or NYC, where C is Competent and NYC is Not Yet Competent. Assessment procedures are transparent and address the key assessment principles of being valid, reliable, flexible, fair and cost effective. Assessment strategies encompass a range of techniques, which include, but are not limited to the use of:- Direct observation of performance

Entry Requirements
There is no age limit for SIT30116 Certificate III in Tourism but applicants should have successfully completed year 10. Mature age and students with prior learning and experience should also apply.
