Community Support

Careers Training Centre is a subsidiary of the CaPTA Group. CaPTA is a strong supporter of the local community and proactive in providing support through sponsorship of schools, the arts, as well as various sporting, community and industry groups.

COUCH (Committee for Oncology Unit at Cairns Hospital) is a local charity which was started by Charles and Pip Woodward in 2006 and is dedicated to helping people affected by cancer. The charity was instrumental in establishing the Liz Plummer Cancer Care Centre and providing radiation oncology services to Cairns.  The focus now is building a Cancer Help & Wellness Centre on land donated by the Woodward family. To find out more about COUCH visit the website at http://www.couch.org.au/.

Further support of the local community is provided by CaPTA through regular participation in community fundraisers, providing donations to various organisations such as the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal and the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal.

Our staff members are encouraged to participate in activities that support the community so that we can make a positive difference to where we live and work.
